2" bolt set into sandstone flag roofing the stair well. Tower is a Grade II listed folly constructed 1875 incorporating a number of atrefacts from a Carlisle hotel on Banks St demolished the previous year. Tower currently undergoing renovation by the farmer, Anthony Martin, who kindly allowed me access. The staircase and flooring are not complete and access was a little precarious. He was unaware of the OS connection, but very interested and assured me the bolt would remain.

talked to the lady who owned the tower she said it was built as a folly she was friendly,and she let me take a reading beside the tower
