If only I'd been more prepared and read the log of BigJ! Parked at NJ 60600 07700 then headed up the track towards the farm. Decided on a direct approach to the cairn up pathless ground which became increasing steep and the heather was very deep. Robbie found it tough and needed a bit of a carry the rest of us tried our best. Once at cairn we spotted a great track to the trig and once at the trig a massive track down to another track heading back to the parking. Suggest you follow this route. Main track to NJ 61154 09280, follow track and wall to trig.

Parked at the top of the sealed road near Upper Broomhill, then a lovely track led gently upwards to the right of the trig. We kept going until the wall then followed an ATV track to the summit. Stunning views all round in crystal clear air. With Nozzer.

Final trig of the afternoon. I had hoped to squeeze in a 4th but delays on Cairn William and the need to be in Banchory for 7pm meant this had to be a quick visit and it was. Parked at NJ606077 on track to Upper Dargie. Easy walk up sheep grazed fields then fairly short heathery slope to the large cairn. Unfortunately the weather had been deteriorating all afternoon and the wind was up and the rain on and off. Low cloud meant the the views were mainly obscured, although I caught occasional glimpses of Clachnaben. The spider was open but otherwise the trig was in good condition

During the drive up the hill, I grew an extra head; or so it would seem from the look I got from someone going into upper Dagie farm as I parked in the massive parking area at the top.

Trig pillar in good order but somebody carrying an Allen key had visited before me. The OS cap from the spider is absent leaving the centre hole open to the elements. The centre cap was still in place when Barbara Jones visited back in 8/12/1992. The flush bracket is on the south side of the pillar.
