Yes, there is a vane on top of the flagstaff, but maybe a flag could still be raised on the pole. A photo at http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/4242466 dated 9 Nov 14 shows a flag being flown, so is Remains the correct condition?

Gringley Church Tower The flush bracket is on the buttress in the left of the picture and the 1GL bolt is behind the bench.
