Walked over from Cross Fell in thick clag, rain and wind. Great Dun Fell is a Nuttall, hence the visit, but also to cheer on an attempt at the Pennine Way record. Conditions so bad and I was over an hour up on his schedule that I decided to get off the hills. Good choice....but "Mother Earth Ship" looked very spooky in the conditions. One of the best words of advice I have been given with navigation is, "always trust your compass". True and the 2 trigs are for them.
