Parked at the Springs Retail Park (Thorpe Park) over bridge across the (new) Ring Road (aka East Leeds Orbital Route) and up to hedge line which I followed along keeping a close eye on both the hedge and the OS map app to ensure I didn't miss it. Walked up to this one from Garforth. Trig thankfully not field side of fence so was relatively easy to get to following the path to Thorpe Springs, then heading through where the fence has been damaged up to the Trig. Located in prickly hedgerow, so hard to get a good photo of. Ok views, towards Scholes, Barwick In Elmete, and the new East Leeds Orbital route sadly. Trig itself in good condition, a bit mossy but no damage. Cap is missing though. This is the closest Trig Point to where I live, finally bagged!

Quick revisit with my little companion for her 18th trig. Pillar as two previous visits, in fine condition with a dense thorny armour, albeit with a missing cap. Access very straightforward - crammy47, I should have been a bit clearer on this one, sorry! I've uploaded a pic of Google maps showing the route I took, and the new ROW. The right of way updates are signposted to the north (presumably to be done following all the development at Barnbow) and show where it will be routed. There will be gates placed in the fence soon, too - this will then become a very easy trig to visit.

Not sure where the ROW runs that others have mentioned as no signs but this was my quite easy route in. Parked in retail park opposite Next. Nipped across the almost deserted dual carriageway then followed the fence line on the opposite banking on a rising diagonal. At the summit climbed over the fence and continued round the far end of the trees. Trig found buried in hawthorn edge at other side of trees.

Having read the recent history for this one, I was unsure what to expect on the ground. I parked in the Thorpe Park shopping car park, nipped over the road, and followed the new ROW footpath. As it doglegs, there is a white boarded security fence abutting a knackered barbed wire fence - people have clearly jumped it here. I followed suit, and then headed north up the field keeping the adjacent barbed wire fence/hawthorn bush on my left. The trig then appeared, nestled right in the hawthorn - with the FB frustratingly facing west into the hedge. There was nothing for it but to retrace back to the jumping spot, and then jump the other barbed wire fence, and follow the hedge on my right this time. The rough vehicle track back to the new footpath was an easy return. Trig in good, weathered condition, just a bit awkward to locate. It also looks safe for now - the development doesn't look to have enough room to really expand this way now. Fingers crossed.

Revisit after a long while. Trig is still there! Plug missing, otherwise no damage. The FB faces E into the thorny hedge so viewing it is a little tricky. Access from Austhorpe to the West is via a bridleway/footpath which has been diverted through Thorpe Park Science Park/Shopping Estate. The route is well signposted but still a little confusing. East of a new access road, the path continues on the North side of the motorway. At the end of the security fencing, the field can be accessed by crossing a barbed wire fence then head North up the edge to the highest point. The trig is just inside the fence/hawthorn hedge and is safely outside the Thorpe Park development, at least for the time being. The path continues East as Barrowby Lane via a footbridge over the motorway and through a belt of beech trees; access from Garforth via this route would be preferable. Trigs on the East side of Leeds have fared badly in the past year or two so good to see that this one at least is OK.
