Walked up from the Tonmawr Mountain cycling centre, not the shortest but a lovely 4 mile(each way) trek. The pillar is located just off the windfarm access roads over some spongy ground and between an old stone wall and a fence, the pillar is in good condition with some moss covering, the flush plate and spider are all in place but the centre plug is missing, various previous visitors have scratched their names onto the spider, great views all round.

1/3 From Dinas Rock CP near Pontneddfechan, caught bus from Glynneath to Resolven. 1. When your waiting for the bus don't assume you know the direction the bus will come from. 2. Don't assume the bus will slow to see if anyone in bus shelter. 3. Don't assume you know the route the bus will take. So, after missing the first bus, set off on route of St Illtyd's Walk, branching off to pillar within wind farm. Gloomy day added to drab views of extensive forestry. plantations

Parked as Julie did by the nice house that was the community centre in Glyncorrwg. Walked up road through "quiet lane" and then onto forest tracks to wind farm. As stated below, "squidgy" walk to and around trig. Would have been nice views to the Beacons if cloud hadn't set in. Then onto Moel yr Hyrddod

From Glyncorrwg on good forest tracks then a bit of squidge through wind farm to the trig. Pillar has lost its top cap and has no plug; RHS sight hole open; there's a small flake missing from top screed at one corner, otherwise vgc. Hill fog, no views, couldn't even see the wind turbines, could only hear them whomping round.

I have seen this peak from many others so I would anticipate a good view from here. Today was throwing it down with rain and visibility of only 50 metres or so made for an eerie experience as the wind turbines loomed out of the clouds.
