Parked on roadside before starting trek across field. Steep accent through wooded area before further steep climb. Muddy one this due to trampled ground from cows.

I don't think the locals want public footpaths around here judging by the lack of any signs other than the big "private ground" one. Trig fine, top cap present.

Took a brake in journey and parked up in Newtown. Walked up lanes and FP from W, steeply, through field. Wasn't prepared for dramatic view that unfolded as I approached pillar, 360 sweep of Montgomeryshire, glorious.

Part of a longer walk, approached via unmarked rights of way. Easily accessible by hawthorn bushes. Superb views- we had our lunch there.

Last one of the trip, down a very very muddy lane. Parked near house (to East) and hoofed up. Couldn't find a good spot to park near the sharp road bend. Trig is on the right hand side of the fence from this direction, so use first gate.

Pillar in good condition, with metal plug. Parked by track at bottom of hill and walked up road to gate where footpath is, no footpath sign but easy access through gate.

Marked footpath from sharp bend in road didn't seem to be marked or exist, but easy access from gate and a obvious steep climb up field edge. Despite the recent hot weather the expected greyness is absent and you are able to have good views out.

Parked at the roadside slightly backed up onto the bridleway and walked along it until reaching the first gate on the righthand side, crossed the field almost on the hedge line. Very good views close on all the way round. Trig is in the line of the hedge but not actually within it.

Found a parking spot on dead-end road to east of trig, then up the footpath to the ridge and along to the pillar.

Pillar is highly visible and very easy to access being on a public footpath. I parked near the bend in the road to the south-west and simply followed the footpath to the trig. Everything in good order and still has an original plug. Nice location with good views.

Well made a mess of access due to faulty Sat Nav came in from supposed Bridleway to a dead end.Managed to sort it out and locate pillar.Good views nice location.
