From east from Clyst Hydon, turned north west at fork in road. Road climbed, after about half a mile began to level out, on south side was a space to pull over, next to a shed or something, which didn’t look used very often. How convenient as I looked towards hedge on north side of road there was the pillar on a plinth. Covered in ivy. Bit of a scramble up embankment. Tidied up best I could. Left a bit of a mess on the road. Cap plugged. Chipped top. Limited views, ok to east.

Covered in moss on the roadside, used branch to pull up onto it and read the metal plate on the other side. Very worn down and has slightly lost its shape.

Parked opposite trig, very convenient. Trig stood on large plinth, useful to record faceplate. Quite a lot of damage to trig.

Easy find. Poped into field just up road from trig to get to see face plate. Worth doing as no veiws from road but amazing veiw from field side of trig.

Covered in ivy and partially hidden by encroaching hedging. After some hedge management the pillar was seen to be on a large concrete plinth in the hedge. The top surface was damaged by annual hedge flailing. The bracket can only be seen from the field side, though it is now possible to access from the plinth.

Roadside by high on a bank as usual and lots of vegetation. Also parked at green box (water tower?) which has it's own wee garden and seat? Also bagged the geocache as you couldn't miss it in plain sight next to the trigpoint. #56 of the trip. With Coineanach Hutch

well hidden in hedge. FB is on N side but easiest access is from rd to south. Geocache. 5 paces from watertank gate with layby on opposite side of road.

Visited today while undertaking a geocaching trail. Unable to record the flush bracket number as didn't fancy scrambling up a very steep bank (pillar sits on top on large base). Undergrowth also dense currently, making even spotting the trig difficult. Excellent views to be had from gateway just along from trig.

Roadside trig. Pillar is on top of a larger concrete block. If you didn't know it was here, you wouldn't find it - not in Summer anyway.

Out in the area as self-appointed driver with friends on a drive-by geocaching trail but once someone said the cache hint was "trig",, I was out of the car to add trigpointing to the day's agenda! Needed a bit of exercise so I was up the bank beside the trig - lovely views from up there! Trig is damaged on all 4 corners presumably by hedgetrimming, but otherwise is ok. As all will be able to see from my photos, one does have to be acrobatic to assess the bracket number!

Like others I hadn't known this pillar was here. the pillar is damaged both sides due to hedge trimming. it is sitting on large concrete base about 4' high. the flush bracket is facing away from the road.

Like previous trig hunters we found the trig point due to geocaching. I know Trigs can in unusual places but this one in a hedge!! The damage is apparent from the hedge cutting.

Easy roadside location, but still difficult to access properly due to its elevated position on large concrete plinth on hedgerow bank. Although recently cut, beech/holly hedge severely encroaching pillar, along with ubiquitous ivy and bramble. No secateurs but persevered with gardening gloves and spade to clear some vegetation and access flush bracket, which faces into field (hedgerow too thick to access from field side). Pillar has been seriously hacked away at, probably by hedgecutting equipment; all top edges and sides very badly damaged, should be re-classified to 'Damaged' or at least 'Slightly..'. Cap missing, asphalt plug. Extensive views E, N & NW; other directions obscured by high hedgerow on opposite side road.

Parked in the embayment by the water tanks which is handy. The pillar is still very overgrown with holly and ivy. There is a replacement asphalt plug. Built on a concrete slab embedded in the hedge. Very awkward to get the FB number. S sighthole open but others obscured by vegetation. Another good pub which I found afterwards on such a glorious day is the Merry Harriers on the B road south of Cullompton.

On top of bank, on plinth, but almost overgrown by the hedge, and the pallet is still there, obscuring the FB, so I didn't get the number - sorry. Widget saw it, but she wouldn't tell me. Nice, typical E Devon views. Nearest pub is the Five Bells (less than a mile down the road to the E), which looks lovely, but a thoroughly recommended gastronomic experience can be had at the Red Lion in Broadclyst, 5km to the SW.
