I've passed this site previously a hundred times; it seemed appropriate to log it today after visiting another 'dead' trig at Barnbow Wood.

The junction before the exact spot. I wasn't getting out of the car for a dead trig, in the middle of a 2ft wide strip of dual carriageway reservation...!

From the pitch black farmers fields of Beighton to, well, the suburbs of Leeds. So the journey goes on, and looking for a candidate to bag on a January dark night coming home from work this proved ideal. Parked at Sainsburys and me being me had a nosey around walking south then turning west down Colton East Lane the reward being a view over the dark Aire valley and Temple Newsam. I used the spot height of 96m on the ring road as a summit purpose then back to the Colton roundabout and the car. The trig is of course long gone, but I am very much still here, mapping the world in my mind.....
