From Clapham village, take the road towards Clapham Station. You can see the trig in the field opposite the cemetery. Head through the gate and up to the trig. The trig is on the other side of another wire fence, but the FB is on this side. Nice views around the Dales.

Parked next to the cemetery and climbed the gate. The pillar is at the opposite side of the field behind a wire fence. It is in generally good condition and retains the original centre for the spider. Good views.

Easy bag across the road from the cemetery. No farmer to ask permission so a quick dash up the field. Trig sits behind a wire fence, just took photo and scarpered! Lovely views

Another farmland trespass pillar visited at a convenient time of year - no crops or livestock to disturb, just a couple of minutes of muddy walking up the field from the road. We parked opposite the field by the cemetary, through the unlocked gate and straight up the field. The pillar is tucked up close the other side of the fence to the adjoining field, but you can lean over and touch it easily without any effort. Pillar in good nick apart from heavy weathering/lichen. We returned the same way.

Second visit. For photographs and GPS measurement. SITE VISIT: Approached from northeast. Road quiet and wide enough to park by NW kerb at SD742685. Followed mapped field boundaries WNW and SSW to trig. Pillar on NW side of boundary fence, planted field to NW, pasture to SE. Column in good condition. Spider retains original OS centre cap with shallow engraved letters. Flush bracket faces ESE, ~114° into fence. Vented through sighting hole on FB face. Open outlook is mainly an upward view to surrounding hills.

Parked at the cemetary nearby to walk up to the TP, but made slightly more difficult by some major pipe laying going on. Had to wait until no vehicle was coming then nip over the two gates. TP in good condition.

Visible and accessible. Although it is necessary to to go on to private land this can be achieved by going through gates. It was made even easier as the field was occupied by surveyors setting up posts presumably for the route of a pipe line. Pillar in good condition set in fence line. Original plug with indented lettering. Not the best vantage point but some good views to be had particularly of Ingleborough.

Access is easy through a gate opposite the cemetry on the other side of the road. Youre masked from the farm by the nearby trees. Incredibley wet field today, wellies would have been far better than boots!!!

On W side of fence; plug intact, FB facing fence. Unusual name but theres a better-known Crina Bottom Farm not far away on the track up from Ingleton to the top of Ingleborough. The cows must be getting used to trig-baggers.

First visit. To record FB number. HISTORY: The pillar was completed 8th July 1949 costing £11.14s.0d. In 1951 this marker was computed as tertiary station SD96/T7 in the Skipton secondary block. Flush bracket S5617 was levelled for height in 1953. This trig point was last mantained by the OS in June 1976. Access OK.
