Selected this one for the partner's 500th trig point for a plaque to go on his stoned trig statue. Nice little walk for me, five days from giving birth! Good views of the sea then into minehead which is mostly shut down this time of year.

My first trig on the first leg of the SW Coast Path, which starts at Minehead 5 miles to the East and finishes at Porlock Weir the same distance to the West. Weather had just turned with a fine drizzle just starting and more on the way, but views were good across to S Wales and to Dunkery Beacon.

Parked at roadend for short circular walk, up track to National Trail, detour to trig then back down to road for walk back to motor. Great sunny views on a blazing hot sunny day. Periton and Dunkery, the days next two visits, were looking inviting.

This is a lovely stone constructed pillar, on the South West Coast Path between Minehead and Porlock. It is situated on a beautiful part of the Somerset coast with views across Exmoor to the south and across The Bristol Channel and Wales to the north. I approached from the south up through the trees from the National Trust village of Selworthy. Lovely cream teas there, I recommend a visit.

Excellent views across the Bristol Channel to South Wales, a bit hazy though today. A well built pillar made from local stone - a National Trust special. I don't know if they built these pillars, but all those I see sporting a NT plate are constructed in a similar fashion. We parked in Selworthy and walked up to the trig and then on to Bossington Hill for a good view over Porlock Bay, returning via Allerford Plantaion for a pleasant circular walk.

Drove up via North Hill, Minehead, where I initially mistook the toposcope for the pillar. Drove on up the road.Short walk from bridalway to pillar.Murky today but that added to the Exmoor atmosphere, looking great in Autumn. A plaque says the pillar has been adopted by a couple from Much Birch, which i guess is the village in south Herefordshire near my home

A fine, blustery days walk along the common, with clear views over to Wales and down over Porlock.

Made of stone, with National Trust and OS GPS plaques and beside a large cairn. It was a very clear day when I visited, so there were views to Wales, Foreland Point, Dunkery, Croydon Hill and the Quantocks.

On a weekend with the family to Butlins I took a walk from Minehead to Porlock. Lovely sunny day with great views over to the Welsh Coast line.

Bagged TP with dear wife during a weekend visit with our rambling group. Great views of Dunkery Beacon and Countisbury Foreland, and South Wales. Selworthy village is a delightful place, well worth a visit. Rustic Trig in excellent condition.

A lovely trig point this, just off the SWCP at the top of the first / last hill on the path from Minehead. I felt quite emotional as it meant that the end of my continuous walk around the SWCP was nearly at an end.
