Revisit, to take better photographs on a stunning cloudless day. Been some changes here in last 3 years - the enclosed fence within the enclosure around the reservoir has gone, and a solar panel now sits on top of the reservoir, and a shed has been built that rather blocks the view NW from the TP towards Rubers Law. ~ ~ 21/05/19 A lot of sheep and lambs in the field, some of the lambs were in the reservoir enclosure that the TP sits in, and there was obvious farming activity going on in the farm across the road, so for the first time ever I did this one without Rosie in attendance :-( We'll pass by this (almost) roadside again in the future when there's snow on the ground and the livestock are cosied up in a barn somewhere. Livestock then became the theme of the day, as we had to forego Southdean Law, Faw Hill and Wolfelee Hill and our planned 6 Trig day ended up as just 3.

Verge parking by field gate ~70m NNE of the pillar, short walk across pasture; pillar sits in a water tank enclosure. An original centre cap retained, deeply indented lettering; all sight holes open, albeit due to some degrading plugs. Good views.

Parked on roadside. Less than a 200m walk via a gate and there it is. Situated within a square fence with gate access. Spider intact, well protected and great views south to Carter Bar. An easy roadside trig bagger.

Nobody around on a showery Sunday so a quick hop over the gate. Pillar in a fenced off compound next to a buried tank - very wet in places.

Second visit. For photographs and GPS reading. SITE VISIT: In a field close to public road, some years this field is arable, in 2009 it was used as grazing pasture. Pillar in good condition. Spider retains OS centre cap with deep indented letters. Flush bracket faces 351°, north. North sight hole still plugged, others open. Views include Philip Law, Carter Bar, Shaw Craig, Faw Hill, Rubers Law.

Located on opposite side of minor road to farm buildings, close to small reservoir. Area grazed by sheep. Pillar screened from road by narrow belt of trees. Views to south. Some white paint remains, as does plug (large deep indented lettering).

NT681148, LR80. First visit. To record FB number. The pillar was completed 15th August 1953 costing £13.4s.6d. In 1954 flush bracket S7501 was levelled for height. This marker was computed for triangulation as tertiary station NT72/T26 in the Jedburgh secondary block during 1957 and was last maintained by the OS in September 1986. Pillar in good condition. Spider retains OS plug with deep font. In arable field close to public road. Views include Philip Law, Carter Bar, Shaw Craig and Faw Hill. Photographed 11th July 1992, GRP.
