Parking at SD 72235 17212, just by the reservoir. An adjacent car park has a picnic area. Easy walk to trig via various ProW. Pleased to note the trig is in good condition, excepting the missing flush bracket. Had a look for the Druid stones; have uploaded photos. Further to Kevlar’s note regarding the size of the stones, I am minded of Spinal Tap and the misunderstanding regarding the measurements for their model of Stonehenge. Perhaps the Druid stonemasons misread the architect’s plans ; inches instead of feet.

My 50th 'bag'. And delightful after the disappointment of Clarkes Hill Resr earlier in the day. A lovely walk up to this one. Shame about the bracket but C'est La Vie. The Stone circle was an anti climax. I wasn't expecting Stonehenge but to find small rocks in the long grass that didn't even look like a circle was really disappointing and makes the flamboyant name of this trig sound rather pathetic tbh.

Where did 2018 go?? Parked at the Entwistle picnic/dog walking site and after a couple of wrong turns found ourselves on Access Land looking the Witton Weavers Way. Not easy. And the final jaunt to the top was easy on this very dry day, but I was expecting more of a waymarker. Still, the top was pleasant. Southwards off the top and then back up along the WWW again. Simple stuff, but a spot of adventure finding Spring Bank Farm. So the story has got to be the pubs. The Strawberry Duck was rammed. (Thursday before Easter.) One beer garden full of screaming kids, the other full of yappy dogs. We didn't stay long. The Black Bull in Edgworth didn't start well. Access to the bar prevented by ruddy faced loud men in cheap trainers. No food until 5.30. (We arrived at 5.00) We retired to the outside balcony. Wonderful. Warm. Great view. Friendly locals, and the food when it finally arrived was excellent. Good day in the ned.

Started from greens arms road on a showery day, rained on and off but generally good. flush bracket missing and been missing a long time looking at previous logs. Went on to bag the tump of Turton Heights which was a struggle the long wet tussocky grass. back down to the road and followed the path along the beautiful Entwistle Res back to the car

followed track past New Butterworths farm and completed a 1-60ml anti-clockwise circuit of the footpaths calling at the trig which is situated in an area of moorland and is surrounded by mud, the trig is generally in good condition but the Flush Bracket has been hacked off, the cap is burnt plastic , one sight hole is open and the Fb would have faced 113m 360 views

Approached the trig from Cox Green Road. Using a path that ran alongside a driveway the path was clear until the third style. From there, their is a path but it tends to go around Cheetham Close rather than up it. So that meant a direct trek to the top which is quite challenging. Once at the top, 360 deg views but the trig is damaged and quite nondescript.

Open moor, mapped as access land. Pillar in damaged condition, flush bracket S2802 was stolen long ago. Spider centre contains a partially burnt plastic cap. Flush bracket faced ESE, compass measurement 119°. Vented through sight hole on what was FB face. Full 360° panoramic view. Part of a 24 trig stint around the northern outskirts of Manchester.

(196) Parked on road behind Egerton school, followed public right of way to top of hill, pillar located by a path, quite dry underfoot, don’t fancy trying to get to this one when it’s wet, 360degree views towards Salford, Manchester and back towards winterhill and also the storage tanks near the trig point at cow lane are visible on the horizon .

White pillar on long, flat ridge. The damage is slight & restricted to where the FB has been hacked out, plus an apparent attempt to burn out the plastic plug. Public. Access Land. Easily reached from Egerton, although the approach paths are muddy.

The circle is north of the pillar, about 100m - nothing very obvious or special. I looked on the web - there is a second one close by - buried. Pillar still has no FB. Nice day, but wet underfoot

Came here with a group of geocachers celebrating the winter solstice event. Pillar looked to be in good condition but the soil around the base has been heavily erroded.

Accessible and visible. On public footpath but surrounded by water and mud. Pillar has been mutilated and flush bracket removed and that area is weathing badly. Otherwise pillar is not in too bad a condition. A very good view point of the surrounding countryside
