I parked in the lay-by and from there it was a very short walk along the PROW to the pillar. It is in pretty good condition though the holes at the base are blocked. Moss is growing at the base but I think that adds something positive to its overall appearance. It retains the original spider and centre a d it looks as though visitors maybe leaving food for the birds etc on the top. I took the time to continue a short distance along the PROW to visit Old Churn Oak - one of the oldest remaining Sherwood Forest Oak trees. Views are limited due to the woodland.
