(3396) If it ain't broke... Parked at the water tower, over the nearby gate, and walked a direct line - about 75m - across the harvested field to the pillar. Ensconced in a hedge but all relevant parts viewable. Some old minor damage to the LHS top, but that aside in good overall condition. All metalwork retained - centre cap with raised lettering. Pillar history: Built on the 8th of May 1957, at a cost of £23 2s 6d. Last maintained by the OS in July of 1975.

Second trig (and one not found) on way down to see daughter and son-in-law in Royston. Followed instructions as per slateloose and found the trig quite deep in the hedge. Thanks to those who have cut the hedge back, it is in danger of vanishing. View is mainly of the water tower...

Parked near water tower. Head back down road towards Great Gransden, then enter field to the right - walk round tow sides of field to the trig, which is in the hedge on the side of the field furthest from the water tower

Chunk taken out of top corner, trig buried flush in hedge. Easy access from field entrance to south. Nice water tower on other side of field.

Parked at the water tower to the south east and walked along the road then along left hand side of field - pillar is slightly damaged as it has a lump out of the top edge and located in the hedge - looks like it was blue as some stage?.

7 of 13.Hedge is much more grown up than in the photos.Trig is not visible from the field entrance.Followed my nose round the margin of the field (which had been freshly ploughed) to the left and found the TP hiding in the hedge and behind weeds.No real views apart from the water tower.

Trigpoint is best accessed by walking around the perimeter of the field of where it is found. Pillar actually sits along the edge of this field in an area in which is quite overgrown, so viewing the flush bracket was a bit of a task. Pillar though was in good condition.
