In the area to visit the very poor Clootie Well and drove up to this trig in search of a more inspiring object of interest. Jumped out of the car and made a beeline for the pillar and climbed over the fence at great personal risk; only to notice later there was no fence 5 yards to the left. Limited views.

Easy find near the roadside with convenient passing place to stop in. A fence has to be climbed though there is a nearby gate. Pillar in very good condition with all fixings. As others have said this is a very tranquil spot on the Black Isle. Lovely view on a warm, hazy day towards Dunain Hill.

Pleasant, quiet driving up to this one, and easily found just off the road within a grassy field. Pillar has its cap; one s/h open.

The 6th and final trig on our Black Isle mini-tour whilst en-route from Tongue to Avimore. Located a few metres from the roadside, easy parking.

Parked on verge on opposite (NE) side of unclassified road at NH635547 beside entrance to house. Less than 2 minute walk across road and over fence. Pillar in good condition. Spider retains OS centre cap with raised large narrow letters. Flush bracket faces northeast, compass measurement 49°. Vented through SW sight hole with NE hole breaking open. Due to the surrounding foliage the only open outlook is a 90° span roughly centred on south.
