A nice walk up to this trig although it was a disappointment that the footpath ends at the pillar (I took the advice of Axe Edge and descended east towards the cricket ground, I did have to negotiate a barbed fence though, into some woodland). The views are stunning and the pillar is in good nick. so thats another one "nabbed"

Parked in car park at sj935785. Walked uphill to pillar. Fantastic weather and views. Spider top intact. Some erosion around base. Thankfully cattle are grazing near to Nab Farm and west of this pillar. Panoramic views raises this grade.

Came here directly from a very sunny Kerridge Hill, but poor winter weather had rolled in by the time I'd climbed to the Nab Head trig, which was eerily covered in mist. Very atmospheric, especially as there wasn't a single person about. Visibility down to 50 feet, but I'm told the views are stunning on a clear day. Very slippy steep climb /descent on an icy day!

Parked on Nab Close and took the public right of way up to the pillar on Nab Head. Spectacular views of the area for miles around, including of the White Nancy on Kerridge Hill and of the Sutton Common BT Tower on Croker Hill. This was my 50th trig!

3/3 Nab Head lives in the shadow of Kerridge Hill and White Nancy. It doesn't help that the public footpath stops at the pillar. Descend east to Pott Shrigley cricket club (unmarked paths) will give you a short cut to bag Sponds Hill. I didnt tell you this. Feeling nostalgic. I gift these trigs today to freedom, we dont know what it is, until we lose it. Count our blessings.

Parked in Shrigley Road and followed the path as per previous triggers, amused by the various signage. Great views from the trig, even on a miserable day, and more importantly it was my 100th trigpoint! :-)

Third of four trigs, came down from the distinctive White Nancy monument through Bollington and up Nab Head. Strange how a mile further along a walk can change the views so much. Good views W and E. Spotted a deer which had spotted us and a kestrel which gave a fine flying display. Dunno why, but I had to stand on top of this one. On to Spond Hill NE.

If you go upNab road or lane and then walk into the cul-de:sac.north there is a path NW up to two stone pillars where a right turn takes you steeply up the final30/40 m to the trig with flush bracket making it2nd birthday in the Alan Dawson trig walk of life. Never saw the sign I'm now reading about, ' public footpath ends here, please return by same route'

Excellent viewpoint. This trig has its own public right of way. However, you're made to feel slightly unwelcome. Firstly there's a heavy gate across the start of the path. This is almost immediately followed by two large "Private" signs (the ROW veers to the left here). Finally, 20ft short of the trig is a notice stating "End of public footpath, return the way you came".

The footpath starts in a housing estate to the South and stops 20m from the pillar, requesting users return the same way. Torential rain at summit. Met two badgers in the kissing gate on the way back down, they scuttled off before i could reach my camera.

1/3 Used Keith Stevens book - Walk E. Lovely day for a good, long walk with fellow trigger "What's the point". Ascended from Bollington and took a well used path to the summit and returning the same way.Good views only spiled by distant industrial sites.

Come on guys, it is not THAT much of a slog. But a fine verdant summit and on a bright January day, westward views to Beetham Tower through a handy gap in the copse, Jodrell Bank, and Fiddlers Ferry, whilst to the east just an inkling of Spring. However. Black marks. Instructed quiet clearly at the top to "return by same route". Just goes against the grain!

Metal plug [indented letters]. Public. RoW from Cockshead Hey Farm. Impressively steep hill, only just outside the National Park. A little gem, deserving an unusually high score for a hill of this modest height.

The only access to this trig point is via Cocksheadhey Farm SJ941783. the path is well signed to summit. Access via any other route is trespass. (re-visit 22/12/20 on fien winters day)

Eventually used the route from Pott Shrigley cricket ground as I couldn't find the path from Bollington. The pillar has all the original metalwork incuding the plug. The flush bracket appears to have been recently polished clean. No paint left. Concrete base is about 1 foot above grass level and there is quite a lot of erosion around it. A short distance to the south is what appears to be a filled-in mine shaft. Good views in all directions.
