Parked in a convenient layby at nt674204.Followed the Jedburgh Circular Route north along a hedgerow. A pasture field today full of sheep, thank goodness. Continued through another small gate and followed the gorse bush line eastward to another gate. This gate is not fastened. Walked through and there it is huddled within the gorse. Easier than expected. Spider is intact. This pillar has great views across to Carter Bar.

Access to the spot is easy, thanks to a clear footpath - but when you get there, finding the pillar is another matter as it's totally swamped by gorse.
