This was a first time visit to this trig and was the first of our four trig day, we reached via a hike across Houndkirk Moor during a wonderful 13.8 mile walk. We then continued to bag Stanage Pole and the trigs along Stanage Edge on a very hot September day.

Approached from the east having come from Ringinglow Trig (via Lady Canning's Plantation). A beautiful setting for one of the best trigs I've visited to date. Pillar in great condition and the views are fantastic. Next stop, Stanage Edge.

Great trig point in fab condition. Been informed it was Painted 2 years ago. Beautiful scenery and a smashing short walk from lay-by on Ringinglow Road. The sun was shining making the colours on the moors amazing

Parked on the main road to the north west and then its a gentle walk along the paths to the trig. Great views in several directions. The nearby stones themselves were very busy with folks taking a rest on their walks. Ham radio contact made with a chap in Barnsley from the trig on 2m.

Parked in a lay-by on the Ringinglow Road. Took the public right of way (PRoW) from there up to SK 28129 83266. Left the PRoW at this point and took a footpath that heads first SW and then SE up to the pillar. Pillar is close to some wind-carved rocks known as the 'Ox Stones'.

A slight detour off the Peak Disrict Boundary Walk to reach this trig. I am ashamed to say, I didnt know it existed, although i have visited Ox Stones a few times. Clag down and rain all day today, but very atmospheric. Paramo waterproofs stood the test of the weather today and gifted the three trigs

K Whitewashed trig just south-east of the Ox Stones themselves. Easy sandy path (quartzy fragments glinting in the sun) from roadside parking on the edge of the plantation Views not stunning but open space in most directions.

Brilliant little walk and great to be on the Eastern Peak again- parked just near the plantation then a circuit out on to the moor and a trample over the heather whilst a bit of a wild snowy one clips Whin Hill and Stanage on it's way to Sheffield.

(1549) The rain was back with a vengeance as I arrived at the layby on Ringinglow Road. Ah well, you can only get so wet... Steady walk to the pillar. Visibility wasn't the best, but the pillar stood out thanks to it's new gleaming white coat of paint - and none of the metalwork was painted, so bonus points goes to whoever did this. A nice one to bag, the only fly in the ointment was the weather. Pillar history: Built on the 18th of July 1938, at a cost of £4 17s 10d. Last maintained by the OS in July of 1985.

Car park just passed Moor Cottage. Easy walk through Lady Cannings Plantation, pop out the other side, easy path in front of you to Ox Stones. Very bleak when I visited, mist rolling pin. No views. Lots of mountain bikers in Lady Cannings Plantation

Revisit to record GPS data. Trig has had a coat of white paint since I first visited in 2011 but it is now starting to weather. Shame about the graffiti. Padlock mentioned by recent visitors has been removed.

Terrific location amidst the sea of purple heather,views good,the mist was just descending and the weather starting to turn so pressed on.some tourist has locked a padlock to one of the rings on top,hopefully this wont catch on as they look unsightly,best off locking your padlock down on the bridge in bakewell!revisited 8/09/19 on a nice late summer evening

Drove here using SatNav,(to Ringinglow), from Rod Moor. Took ages!!! First of all down little used narrow tracks that are not TT friendly, and then a comprehensive tour of Sheffield suburbs, before reaching the footpath to the north. Followed this until I decided the pillar must be amongst the stones on top and set off across ankle twisting heather for the second time today. Pleasant enough. Couldn't resist the urge to climb a stone without remembering the most important climbing maxim - work out how to get down before you go up! Speaking of which, followed the now obvious path back to the road, but this was no more fun than the thrutch up.

Swelteringly hot day. It felt warmer up here than down in Sheffield. I enjoyed the peace and brilliant views before cycling over to busy-busy Stanage Edge.

Would be worth a six had the heather been in bloom. Pillar could do with a coat of paint as it is virtually invisible amongst the dark heather as you approach it.

Metal plug [indented letters]. Public. Access Land. Peak District National Park. Can be reached on foot from Fox House Inn via Houndkirk Rd [rough track]. Trig out on the moor, among the heather & close to the Ox Stones themselves. Good access paths from the track to E & the road to N.

Didn' really get a great look at this one, as it was passed during a Fell Race - igers Todger Fell Race tonight 6m/850ft - First time i have done this one. Took in a long slow climb up the Limb Valley, quick dip onto Burbage Moor, round the Ox Stone's trig TP5267 and back towards Dore Moor to finish at the Sheffield Tigers! Great Race!

Half decent view towards the nearby Ox Stones and to the south. At the ROW directly north there is a small layby where 3 or 4 cars can park. Immediately through the gate a path heads to the right into the heather, follow it to the Ox Stones and thence to the trig. Will be nice when the heathers in full bloom.

Cycled up along track but had to carry my 'tank 'of a bike over the heather. Quite a few paths lead up to the trig from which there are good views.

Easily accessible and very visible. I used the parking area on Ringlow Road and followed the forest side track before heather bashing across to the rocks [found a lovely un-mapped path back to the gateway to come back on!!]. Lovely location made all the more perfect by the weather which gave excellent views of the surrounding moors and the sea of purple heather. Pillar in excellent condition with original plug with depresses lettering.

Nice single file path through the heather testifies to trigpointers! Good condition, orginal plug. Did it with Stanage and Higger Tor, as well as Carl Wark Hill Fort. The Ox Stones are distinctive, without being captivating!

Passed the trigpoint on a mountain rescue exercise on Houndkirk moor. Pretty sure the logged FB number is correct - S2153 is just down the road in Ringinglow, according to the trigology database.

Situated a few hundred yards from the Hathersage road on Burbage Moor. This has easy access as there is a well worn footpath across the moor to the Ox Stones. It’s complete and in good condition. The views are good without being spectacular but the Ox Stones are worth a visit if you’re out that way.
