Oh dear! Set in a roadside hedge covered in ivy, neglected and surface damaged by hedging flails. Even the base was damaged. Foliage trimmed for Christmas..

Good verge parking 100m due S. Pillar is located on a high raised field boundary and is being subsumed into the thorn hedgerow. Cleared away the ivy but left the thorn. Significant flailer damaged to all top edges. An original centre cap is retained, lightly indented lettering; BSM-style FB; LHS sight hole open.

By dinghy from Salcombe harbour to Waterhead then delightful flower banked tracks and lanes to trig piont. Mounted on large concrete block set into hedgerow. Lots of stinging nettles. FB best viewed from field side.

Definitely a drive by. Unfortunately its vegetation cover and the rainfall caused a "drive past". Walked back through field and needed to climb low fence. Access from the road is better. Cleared away the ivy so that the pillar is more easily seen, left the sloes for others to make into sloe gin. Views very limited as the rain was setting in.

This is my first official logged trigpoint in Devon after walking this section of SW coastal path.In hedge at side of road covered in ivy,I found Trig Pillars in Devon I visited later were all resting in similar state,the Pub and tearoom are all worth a visit and the views and terrain are stunning .Gammon hd especially so.great day.

It's at the side of the road on a large plinth. The FB is field side but this is no problem as there is an open entrance into the field (where we parked). Plug with indented lettering.
