Granite pillar with bolt and height tag. In teasels, raspberries, nettles and brambles ~0.7m from S face of brick ended flint wall, 1m from SE corner.

Granite FBM pillar beside a wall. Walked down from High and Over car park (although you can park next to it). Height tag present reading 303.65ft.

Easy bag from road considering the time of year, flattened a few brambles and found FBM very easily, ok views for a FBM. Second trig of the day. Earlier bagged Wilmington Hill. Later bagged Cliffe Hill, Wolstonbury Hill and Chanctonbury Ring. Sunny with a strong wind.

Today the FBM was covered in brambles so much so that I could not get to it even though I was only 6ft away from it. I could just see the top underneath the foliage.

Bus taken from Eastbourne YHA to Exceat Bridge. Followed West bank of Cuckmere River North, then climbed past the white horse. Nearby pillar all ready ticked but didn't have note of this FBM. Nearby flint wall has recently been rebuilt and the ground in front cleared of vegetation and is currently just raw red earth.

Parked at the NT car park and short stroll along road to the benchmark. Undergrowth reclaiming it a little but spotted quickly. Cleared it as best we could. Some nice views from this block.

My first FBM! GPS took me to the spot, it's next to the wall of the old (NT) barn and was well proteced by stingers and I didn't get that close as I was wearing shorts.

Wow. this took a bit of finding at this time of year. My gps was pointing to the southern side of the farm track but I guessed that if it was still here it would be in amongst them nettles and brambles. Ten minutes later and many stings and scratches I found it. Message to self to not wear shorts next time.

A short walk from the car park up the road. Two firsts for me here… an FBM that is not surrounded by a fenced enclosure and the first FBM that I have found that still has the original height data label attached. Apart from that, nothing out of the ordinary. It is still in very good condition and currently, still very accessible.

Classic 2GL FBM, in excellent condition, complete with height tag 303.65 ft. Almost totally hidden by brambles, but the blackberries tasted excellent. Flush Bracket 2436 is close by.

We don't normally bother if theres no FB involved but we saw this by accident after going to tell the farmer that one of his very young lambs had got separated from its mother and was in the wrong field (noticed on our walk to The Comp). We took a photo anyway! (not digital though!). FBM has a GPS plaque.

My first FBM, It was sitting in the long grass alongside some farm buildings, a short walk from TP0430 (Frog Firle). The datum mark shows a height of 303.65 feet.
