Coming from the west along the road. Followed the round to the right. Just as a beech hedge starts there is access to the field. Follow the field edge/tree line then right hard turn following a wire fence through the woods. As the space opens up there is a stile with protection against the dreaded barbed wire. Simple potter up a small incline past a small memorial. Limited views due to trees.

A long hike from Wormit via Peace Hill. Followed tyre tracks along the north edge of the wood and then a faint path through the wood southwards to the stile over the corner of the fence. Then an easy climb up to the pillar. Restricted views due to the surrounding woodland except eastwards to Lucklaw Hill and the coast.

Parked near style at N 56° 23.483' W 003° 03.746' and headed into the field, hoping for an easy bag. Followed track along tree line. Turned right and made a beeline for the trig which ended at a wall and a barbed wire fence. Couldn't see a gate or style so climbed it! Got caught a few times as usual! On the way back spotted a handy style (N56° 23.400' W3° 03.572') and covered barbed wire in the corner of the field with a well worn track all the way back to the car!

Followed two pheasants through the woods to the grassy hilltop (they seemed to know the way) - pillar remains in good condition with its shallow lettered cap in place and one sight-hole open. Nearby, someone has created a small fenced garden with flowers therein, a bench, and a garden-sign: Tay Mount. Somewhat spoiled by the ugly coils of barbed wire encircling it.

First visit. To record FB number. The pillar was completed 27th June 1948 costing £5.19s.6d. Later in 1948 this marker was computed as tertiary station NO42/T33 in the Dundee secondary block. The flush bracket was levelled for height in 1967. This trig point was last maintained by the OS in July 1982. Three trig circular route from Cupar railway station. I originally had this one listed as Lewes Wood as indicated on LR59.
