Yesterdays pristine weather had passed on and it was back to typical winter weather in mid-Wales, grey and dank, still some ice about. Leisurely walk out from Painscastle along quiet lanes before climbing open slopes which had been harvested of bracken, to reach The Roundabout, a large, circular dry stone walled enclosure containing fir trees which looked well old and whose originals were probably planted to commemorate Queen Victoria's diamond jubilee (1897), with the circular wall built to protect them.

Parked in a pull-in on the main road at Crossvilog and followed one of the many routes West over the Begwns, crossed the minor road and headed up to 'The Roundabout' which the trigpoint sits next to. Good views of the Brecon Beacons.

Easy walk up to a big view today all the Brecon Beacon mountain ranges on display. The trig has a National trust for Wales plaque attached with fading white paint. Sunny and warm now with a nice breeze.

Easy walk from the roadside. Great views from all directions. Enjoyed sitting in the nearby walled area, enjoying the views and being sheltered from the wind.

Like the majority of logs, easily climbed The Begwns, from road to east, great viewpoint could see south from Bredon Hill in the Cotswolds to Fan Brycheniniog and North from Drygarn Fawr to Titterstone Clee Hill in Shropshire. Earlier that day did a 12 mile walk re-bagging Mynydd Troed and Mynydd Llangorse. Great views on a sunny, windy and very clear day.

Nice, easy walk up from roadside, visiting "The Roundabout" en-route. TP in good condition, but the flush bracket has quite a bit of carelessly applied white paint slopped on it.

Highly decorated intact trig emblazoned with Welsh dragon, NT plaque (why) and adoption plaque which says one can see forever on a clear day. I could just about see the Roundabout!

A gray day with wet rain. Half a mile from the road over easy ground. Pillar found just off the hill top with a reasonable coat of white paint and adorned with a red dragon transfer, a National Trust plaque, and an adoption plate. Origonal top cap has been retained, lightly indented lettering; rear sight hole open. Probably good views, if one could see them!

from nearby road. A 6 minute stroll up. a remarkable view and as for the roundabout...strange structure not unlike the sheep folds of north england. trig in good condition though some muppet has stencilled a red dragon on it. I wonder if it was an Englishnan who built such a sturdy pillar?. shame the paint job hadnt been done a little tidier too... looks like its been applied with a sheep. back to the road in 4 mins and then the long drive home.

I visited this trig point by accident because it was the starting point for a race that I entered, the magic roundabout 10k. The trig has been well looked after has been painted white with a welsh dragon on the side. Amazing views all around .

Last trig of the day for me and an easy 700m walk up from the mountain road. though its a narrow road to drive up. The trig is not quite at the top, that's in the small walled copse next door.

Just about as good as it gets. Easy to locate and access, with great views and the unusual Roundabout. There was also a procession of horse drawn carriages past whilst I was there. Visited while supporting walkers doing the Wye Valley

Four of five for the day and by far the easiest pull off onto the grass at the col and walk across up and done in under 15 minutes. Excellent views South onto the Black mountains scarp. Trig complete with National Trust badge and adoption plaque. And not a frond of bracken in sight the befefits of spring.

Getting a bit weary near the end of a 14 mile walk plus it has turned very wet up here. Great views, worth the effort.
