From excellent parking at end of mast track. Followed track past mast S then E to end. Then through trees 20m heading slightly L to meet excellent path to Torlum summit and Trig. Down SE on good path to track. SW on made track then on old green track alongside burn or ditch above Craig Gregarty. A few low trees here but OK. Last 50m a bit rougher to fence. N up fence to flat section of fence which was easy to cross. Straight up steep slope then heather to Lurgan Hill. N descent on animal trail to visible gap in woods near burn and fence wall junction. Easy path from here over wall and N to Torlum ascent track. Back on track past mast. Fabulous views throughout. 8.5km, 310m climb. Hills 1 and 2 of 6. Love this area.

Dreich day. Route from Balloch Cottage blocked by windfall after Storm Arwen, and forestry operation (probably clearing fallen trees). Approached from parking at NN 826 199 using forest track to comms mast. Rough vehicle track starts at NN 814 198 becoming a path up the hill until the trees are cleared. Then up through heather to summit/trig. Returned via more obvious path on the west side which joins forest tracks at NN 812 193.

Parked in Crieff and approached through the woods to the east. Good paths and forestry track leads almost to the summit although the final section is a really steep path between fences and across rough heather. Good weather on a bright sunny day made for great views all round from the trig including Crieff, the Sidlaws & Ochils as well as further afield to the Glen Lednock hills, Ben Chonzie, etc to the north. Returned by a better path to the east then through forestry, good walking easier than the approach but not as exciting.

Approached from Ballochargie to the east of Torlum where there is parking at entrance to forest. Good forestry track leads from here almost to the summit with the final section on a steeper little path that branches off to the right from the main forest track. Good weather made for great views from the trig ranging from nearby Crieff and further away the Sidlaws & Ochils. The summit also makes a good viewpoint for the Glen Lednock hills, Ben Chonzie, etc to the north. A very handy trig to visit if your looking for a short walk!

Path becomes sketchy higher up and disappeared in the snow. Take care to note route back down. Snow and high winds from the mini beast from the east.

Sauntered up the steadily climbing forestry track from the East, only steep before the top. A couple of wee nips off the south edge but otherwise good, cap amissing with only the Western sight closed. The big conifer has recently been removed and much as I grieve it's passing, I can't help but appreciate that the 360 trigview is wonderful now.
