Outward bound via White Craig Heads, Carnethy Hill to Scald Law. Inward bound via the reservoirs of Loganlee and Glencorse. The trig commands 360 panoramic views. Spider missing. Could do with a lick of paint. Purple heather blue sky, verdant bracken, the odd heron, fell runners, mountain bikers, sporty youngsters, fly fishing and a dad pushing child in pram add credence to this wonderful day. Computed as primary triangulation station PP345 within Figure 3 of the OSGB36 Primary Retriangulation of Great Britain during 1937. Levelled to second class precision in 1943. The final pre-GPS maintenance by the OS was in May 1970. This marker continues to be maintained by the OS as a GPS passive station. SITE VISIT First ever S1*** series for me. Lowest FB number on my records at that time, the significance of which was still unknown to me. Highest hill in the Pentland Hills. No photos taken.
