Walk through the entrance of parsonage and flow the path onto the PROW. The Trig was fenced of with barbered wire but still a find. V.we’re, boggy field crossing to trig point.

Parked opposite Parsonage farm then followed the PROW up past the farm and through the gate, once through the gate headed over the field and up the hill to the pillar, Trig in good condition with great views off in all directions and surrounded with an easy enough to pass through barbed wire fence. Replacement centre cap fitted

Starting from Langho train station, I headed towards Mytton Fold golf course and followed a RoW which is named Doctor's rake. Across Moor Lane then up another RoW which eventually took me to Dean Clough Reservoir. Theres a choice of paths from here to take you to the junction of Whalley Old Rd and York Rd. An overgrown path to Snodworth Hall then a path heading west into the trig field. As previously said, a small wire fence protecting the pristine pillar. A nice location and pleasant visit. Windy Bank next. Today's trig visits are dedicated to Eddie Marsden. Age 85 today. Happy Birthday mate.

Couldn't get to it, loads of cows, barbed wire fence and even an electric fence when I tried going around the other way, could see it and got as close as I could, shall have to return.

Parked opposite end of entrance to Parsonage Farm, knocked to ask for permission bumt no one about (lots of CCTV though) then followed footpath to electric fence cross here sign. Went through and then realised the trigpoint was behind me on a small mound. Surrounded by a barbed wire fence but easy enough to go underneath it if you want to hug the trig.

Lovely pillar, easy to see from the road. Didn’t venture up through the farm as nothing to indicate RoW and didn’t seem right to go knocking for permission in a lockdown situation. You cannot touch the trig as there is a barbed fence surround. Well maintained by the local council, nice view of the reservoir on York rd. walked up from brownhill. Logging but not really counting this as bagged yet, will return later in the year and secure permissions.

Came up past Parsonage Farm through a few gates and arrived at the top for sunset.No chance of erosion around the base or being reduced to a cattle rubbing post for this pillar, thanks to lots of TLC from the parish council. To celebrate a good view and a pleasant summer evening we had a singsong at the top which attracted the whole of the suckler herd. All the calves were at the front, mothers behind,which made for a memorable concert picture

Parked opposite entrance to Parsonage Farm followed Row past all the farm yard rubbish and around to Trig which is situated in a meadow surrounded by a Barbed Wire Fence. It is in Good Condition ,Painted White, with a plastic cap and the Sight Holes are Open, A plaque to Wilpshire Parish Council who restored the Trig in 2005 adorns one face. The views are 360

HISTORY: Pillar built in June 1948 costing £13.8s.0d. Computed as secondary triangulation station SD74/19 within the Blackburn block during 1948. Levelled for height in 1956. Last maintained by the OS in October 1980. SITE VISIT: Approached from southwest. Parked at SD701322 by SE side of road almost opposite farm entrance. Followed mapped RoW to high point then beeline northeast to top. Freshly repainted white pillar in immaculate condition. A barbed wire cordon is in place around the pillar to keep the cattle at a respectable distance - no obstacle to humans. A plate on the rear of the pillar exclaims that it was restored in 2005 by Wilpshire Parish Council. Spider centre contains a grey plastic cap, fitted 14/05/2000 by JWR. Flush bracket faces SSE, ~151°. All sight holes open, innards filled with debris. Full 360° panoramic view.

pristinely white, looks crudely painted and protected from livestock with a two strand barbed wire square enclosure that's easy to duck under. This is the starting trig of the Rob Woodall aka Peregrinus' 'Trig walk of life'

Asked at Parsonage Farm for permission to visit the Trig. Permission given by the farmer with no problem. For me this has the best views of any Pillar I have visited.

Passed close by whilst out with my walking group - The Irregulars, LDWA - walking a section of The Hyndburn Clog. So took the opportunity to visit this highly visible pillar. Easily acessible from both nearby footpath and road. Everything in good order. Nice views of the surrounding area.

Nice stroll in from the west across the golf course (parking about 100m up road from footpath), then up the field. There seem to be more fences than on my 1:25000 - cross the stile out of the golf course, then the next one and turn immediately up hill. Good views.

Plug replaced by plastic cover. Pillar has been recently painted and is now in a barbed-wire enclosure with the ground level raised to cover the sides of the plinth.
