Parked at the hairpin bend on the Bwlch Rd. walked on windfarm track until joining small track on the left before the first wind turbine. Followed this track until reaching the radio masts, pillar is located via a sheep track a short distance behind the compound. The top of the pillar is missing along with the spider and flush bracket, the centre pipe is protruding from the top and the sight holes are still in place and open. Bagged this one on my way to find the Werfa surface block and Nant Hir pillar.

Marked as damaged but as it says in Elton's song "I'm still standing!" but top half has gone and there is no FB! A bit disappointing but have seen worse recently! Parked at pull in near Windmills entrance and walked up from there 25 mins. Went on to Nant Hir next for a cheeky bag as I could see it from the trig and it didn't look that far(20mins)!

Third trig of the day on a loop out of Pontycymer. Parked at the end of the Forestry road. Heartbreaking to see such a badly damaged trig. Sat just behind the television masts. No FB.

Very badly damaged. A real shame as this was one of the primary trig points first used to draw up the OS map of Wales in the 1930s. Parked at entrance to wind farm and continued on to Nant-Hir.

The first of a trio of trigs visited with meltdiceburg on a walk along the Mynydd Llangeinwyr ridge from the Werfa wind farm to Pen-y-Foel. This one has definitely seen better days, but at least it's still in situ!

Phenomenal views up to Pen y Fan and down to the Bristol Channel. Shame the trig is such a state. Thinking of giving it some tlc ourselves as it's our home trig.

From ENE along on mast access track. Badly damaged pillar sitting in an icy moat this morning, top section broken away and substantial fractures to what's left; rusting central tube protruding; FB gone; all sight holes open and oozing salts. This is bordering on 'remains' and will be in a few years. Dull 360deg views due to flat nature of the hill. On to the Werfa surface block. There's a small wooden post with pipe nail (or similar) a metre or so on S side of the pillar - survey related perhaps?

Parked at end of the road at Blaegwynfi and then followed footpath up into forest and then out onto hillside and up between Mynydd Caerau and Werfa. Onto Mynydd Caerau first then onward to Werfa before returning to Blaegwynfi on a lovely sunny morning.

Thought I would make 1500 something interested having "found" 1499 while logging Dewey summits and realised I had missed logging a trig. A county top should do but in driving rain and masses of flytipping perhaps it shouldn't have been this one. Like Ted I was worried about the car but only had time for two planned. However I did have the time to cross the road to pick up the Dewey top of Twyn Crugyrafan and was met with .... another pillar in almost identical condition to Llangeinor at SS92035 95455 given the five fig number for Llangeinor could this be the origianl location?

This is one of the most sorry looking trigs I have ever seen. It appears to have been attacked with a sledge hammer by someone after the brass spider which is now missing, as is the FB. Large chucks of the concrete trig lay scattered about. I pocketed a piece, with one of the hooks in it, to put in the garden. This is the Bridgend County top. I parked at the entrance to the drive up to the masts but was continuously concered about the safety of the car as its a fly tipping area. I had at one stage planned to walk to 7 trigs without moving the car as they are so densely packed around here. In the end I bottled out walked to four, moved the car for the next two and left the last for another day.
