Final pillar (and highest) of a 3 trig point walk (starting with Linn Park Golf Course, then Windlaw). Pillar distinctly "tatty" with plug filled with concrete and top corners of the pillar looking as though someone had nibbled at them. Possibly would have scored this pillar 8 due to the incredible views (albeit with hills to the north obscured by cloud) and the appearance of a rainbow but the condition of the pillar let it down. I would like to return on a clear day to get the full view. I had caught the no.4 bus down to Linn Park and planned to do a circuit back round to the start following the "Magnificent 11 route for the return to Lin Parkbut my phone started playing up and I had been relying on it for the route. I could have caught the number 5 bus back into town from Ardencraig Road but decided to continue as best as I could figure out through various green ways to Kings Park. At this point I caught a passing No 5 bus back to the city centre. Total mileage for the walk was 7 mile of which less than a mile was on the road.

Steady ride from south west through the village of Carmunnock, the only village within the boundary of the city of Glasgow. Steady continuous climb, past a car park and view point on the north west of the road, and off road cycle tracks. Past a golf club on the south east of the road, then road starts to descend. Mast visible on left of road through the trees. About 100 metres from start of descent is a bar gated entrance to the field. A few metres from there is a stone view point which probably had place markers on it at one time, now bare. Pillar about two hundred metres west of the view point close to the mast and a derelict looking building in a fenced area. Fantastic views across the city and to the hills and mountains beyond. Highest log of the day, 192 metres, according to OS map. Slightly chipped. Raised S prefix. Cap filled with concrete.

Pillar is slightly damaged, but decent considering it's prominent location over Glasgow. The cap is missing, but the BSM-style FB is intact and fine. [ExP-159/MiP-6/Rev-2/BM-12/IS-16/Other-3]
