Loved this walk and the views. Followed the Kintyre Way from Machrihanish then left the track to head up the hill just before it dips to Innean Glen. The views to Ireland, Rathlin Island, Islay, Jura, Arran, Campbeltown Loch and Ailsa Craig were stunning today.

Quadbarrel great fun? Staying at Ballygroggan Farm so thought we should really bag this as we can walk from the cottage! Two things I liked about this hill, the view and the passiveness of the trig. Anything else was $%@£$. Once off the Kintyre way, the going is tough and if you ignore the better advice of your other half to come off the hill the same way, it can get worse! Every step high heather or a huge hole, or a combination of both, or head high ferns which the dog refused to walk through.

Parked just up into a logging road (NR 6506 1380). Walked ~400m WSW on road and took track just after the 131m spot height to well past Gartnacopaig before breaking away NW over rough pasture for the hill. Pillar retains original centre cap, no lettering; L & RHD sight hole open. Extensive views to Ireland, Islay & Jura etc.

Initially on Kintyre Way (lovely grassy ATV when track runs out) from Ballygroggan, parking at NR 627 193 at end yellow road (there is a CP about half a K further on - rough track).

Headed south on the Kintyre Way having parked at Ballygrogan, on a fine late September morning. Followed the Way until the fence directly to the West of the summit at Binnein Fithich and then followed it pretty much directly to the summit. Tough going underfoot for the whole route but cracking views across to Northern Ireland and to Jura and Islay. Descent was directly North to rejoin the Way for the return to the car park. Even tougher going on the steep slopes. Great fun!

Levelled for height in 1956. Was last maintained in 1978 but is now preserved as a GPS passive station. SITE VISIT: Approached from southeast. Parked on widened area NE side of track at NR643136. Followed higher track NW to NR618144 then up fenceline to summit, electric fences were not energised at time of visit. Pillar in good condition. Spider retains OS centre cap with no lettering which seems to be the original fitting. Flush bracket faces ESE, ~117°. A GPS plate is fitted to the SW face. Vented through SW & NE sight holes, innards blocked with debris. Full 360° includes Islay, Jura, Gigha, much of Kintyre, Arran, and a long stretch of Northern Ireland.
