Approached via PROW from Wythen Lache. Left the PROW at the plantation and climbed over the dry stone wall bordering the field where the comms tower compound is located. Walked to the tower compound and took photos of the Trig in the neighbouring field. Decided not risk climbing over the wall to get to the trig. I could see it well enough!

This was an awkward one to get to. I initially approached from the South (Old Road). But there was a sign on the gate to the field where the transmitter is, threatening legal action if anybody unauthorised is found in there. So I instead headed up the adjacent PRoW and through a plantation until I reached a wall that I scaled (my bad) Eventually reached the Pillar only to see someone heading in my direction in a Land Rover. It was the owner. Fortunately, he was friendly and when I told him I had got lost (rolled eyes), he gave me directions down to the cinder path. I got out of there fast without getting a photo. Unfulfilling but still bagged.

This trig pillar is in my back yard so to speak and after years gazing at a small ridge running off Ladder Hill I finally took the plunge today and followed it from N to S for 1 km. I dedicate this pillar to all the trods, unknown paths and ridges we have often wondered about venturing on. They are waiting for us to discover them. A corker of a path, to the east Combs Valley and to the west the Goyt Valley. A circular walk from Buxton, access to the trig via Long Lane, over a gate and hand rail the wall to the trig. Return same way.
