I got to this one via Deer Hill Reservoir to the south of the pillar. Had to climb a couple of fences and walk through a herd of cows. Nettled all the way round, did some gardening and got my photos. Went back via the gate onto Krives Lane.

A rougher but betterr approach if you want to avoid Tom Pitts intimidatory pack of hounds & locate the trig easily...Enough room to pull your car in between the gate & lane opposite, Sledgate Lane (Krives Lane) on the map. Crossing the road walk down the lane & just after passing the track to Slacks Farm on your left make a climb to follow the semi-circular wall, climbing a cross wall or two to reach the trig situated in the field & not in or on the wall as depicted on the OS map.

No wood,no view of Deer Hill Reservoir and Krives Lane was confusingly called something else. What there was from the pillar on a pleasant summer evening was the silhouette of Pennine hills set against a rosy tinted sky and that was really nice.

2 of 2 Took longer way round from West Nab to this trig, coming up to it from the S. Trig easily found near to huge rolls of hay. Good views W, N and E. Down to the Slaithwaite and the canal, W to Marsden then S back to the car following the Pennine Way by the three reservoirs. A decent day's walk.

Managed to park on the B6107 and walk up the access track heading south from SE074125. Walked past the trig on the lane to metal gate for access into the field - beats scaling walls. Pillar, all metal work intact. Note from previous logs - usually a muddy affair, just a dry dusty lane on this occasion. The 2018 heatwave has its benefits ! Reasonable views on a very warm but fairly hazy day.

Another dank one, splendid views of Colne Valley later on, past the Shooting Lodge then back down to "Slawit" bakers. Part of an old Sunday route I used to do from Standedge to The Sair (never walked back), used to be the nice green 365 bus - happy days

Parked at start of mud track (SE073124) shown as right of way on map. Don't expect to approach this one in stealth mode as there is a baying pack of dogs in the adjacent field! Went right to the end of the track before crossing into field and across to the pillar, which was in a sea of mud.

Bagged this one after West Nab Trig Point on a circular walk from Marsden Station to Slaithwaite Station in the rain. Tricky one to find, and resorted to my GPS in the end, eventually found it behind a dry stone wall. Tap Fell Finder into Google to see a detailed blog on this walk.

Metal plug [indented letters]. Private. Owner unknown. 2nd field in from end of Krives Lane [muddy track]. Not visible from there, but found by crossing gate [carefully - barbed wire along top] & walking up to top of field & through broken wall. Trig to right, along wall. Nettles not in evidence.

geoching around "slowit" took a detour to bag this one,up the muddy track,missed the obvious way to trig,approached from top side of trig and through broken wall.no views to speak of due to misty weather,good walk up though.

Reasonably accessible but not immediately visible from nearby track (right of way). Situated at the top of a field and I accessed through a bit of broken wall protected by a hurdle although returned by a gate to the north-west onto Krives Lane. Near views somewhat restricted by walls but reasonably good distant views. Pillar in good condition but looks as though the surrounding nettles could camoflage it in summer. Original plug with indented lettering and one hole open.

Looking for this with only a 1:50000 map was a pain. It was hiding behind a wall. Wandered up to the reservoir for the view and 'bagged' the Trig on the way back down. My third Trig on my drive North towards Greetland. 328m. Me

Rode here after visiting Crossland Heath and before super fast descent to Slaithwaite. There was a rainbow over Huddersfield. Shouldn't it be called Krives ?

Don't know where Lingards Wood comes from, it's Krives really. Follow Krives Lane until it ends at the metal 'gate' leading onto the open moor. Climb the gate at your left and head diagonally left across the field (the trig is in the adjacent field just beyond the wall) or follow the field perimiter. Climb another gate in the field corner to gain access to the trig. Good view down to Slaithwaite.

White pillar in grass field near dry stone wall overlooking Deer Hill Reservoir and Shooters Nab beyond. The field looks to have more action from moles than deer. Access via lane from B6107.
