Arrived from Ox Stones. Lovely setting, amazing views. Alas, this visit was hampered by the millions of midges/flying ants that were literally everywhere around the pillar. It was like a plague (Even Moses was there) Last one of tdays 9 mile hike. Back to the car parked near Higger Tor.

On route of Peak District 70th birthday bash 70km race via Bamford and Hathersage. Lovely evening and this being the last trig of the day it was time to stop faffing about and put a wiggle on, it was still a long way back to Castleton via Bradwell and getting dark soon. I love this walk but this day was cold, grey and very windy. Walked from Redmires via Stanage Pole. Trig point was in good condition. There are fabulous views from here normally

Visited during a days hiking in the Peak District. This one is sited at the end of Stanage Edge near Hathersage. It offers great views in all directions and is generally in good condition. The centre cap for the spider has been replaced but the pillar looks good painted white.

Been up to Stanage Edge a number of times but the High Neb end, so first bag of this trig. Very busy today, day before lockdown starts again I guess tempted many out for a last hurrah. Clear and bright, great views. Some little scrambles for the kids up to the trig.

(1871) Made use of the parking spots on The Dale, and from there it was a relatively straightforward walk, and then climb, to the pillar. The intermittent rain wasn't a real problem, but the gale force winds was something else - especially at the pillar. Had the place to myself today, as I didn't see another soul for the duration of my visit. Extensive views in all direction. A return to the area when the weather is better is a must. The pillar itself is all good - very pebbly! Though the original centre cap is missing and has been replaced by a plain plastic one. Pillar history: Built on the 16th of July 1938, at a cost of Ł5 7s 5d. Last maintained by the OS in July of 1985.

Very good views although a hazy day. Came up from Longshaw Lodge as part of a loop over Stanage and back up through Padley gorge. Told by a gentleman there that on a very clear day you can see Lincoln cathedral (which is plausible - it's not over the horizon). Today you could barely see Hope cement works.

Out early for a pedal to Burbage Rocks for a BCQ control. Stanage Edge is on the other side of the road to Burbage and stretches for 4 miles with 3 trigs on it. Stanage trig is at the S end, easily accessible and the most visited trig. Gifted to a juvenile rook that I rescued from the road, stunned, heat exhaustion or fell out of nest?

Nice and easy to locate off the path along the Edge, although a teeny bit of rock hopping was required to access the trig! It was a glorious morning and the views from the Edge were stunning. Went on to bag High Neb afterwards.

Bagged whilst out with Stafford photographic club. Plenty of people about on a lovely warm sunny day. Park up with rest along the road and walk up. Hop onto the rock outcrop on which the pillar is sited. 4 Sight holes open, metal plug. Great views all around especially to Edale.

loved this one,great views,big rocks,walked from hathersage,through carl wark,fiddlers elbow.met a jogger up there who clearly wasnt enjoying the experience judging by her grimaced face!revisited 25/08/14,views restricted by mist,another padlock on the top of this one no doubt put on by a tourist.revisit 23/11/20 ,popular one for me!!!

Great day walking with my mate, Tracker Dog. Came up via Redmires reservoir and Stanage Pole to the edge then south to this trig. Low cloud added to the 'atmopshere' but cleared giving great views all round. At Stanage Pole saw numerous carvings on one of the rocks, on the north face, which looked like a bench mark. Is there a pillar underneath it all?

Great location this one - pillar located on top of ridge - was going to walk to Stanage Pole and High Neb, after looking at time, distance and the colour of the sky I opted for the head off to the hotel and have a beer option :)

Fine rocky position in deference to the many climbers around. (They never carried beds on their backs in my day!) Extra point because coming from the Pole cries out for the diversion into the fabulous Robin Hoods Cave. Now. Where is the car? Scotsman Pack in Hathersage serves decent enough beers but as a pub it is as welcoming as submarine crew to a fart. Every table laid for meals, and to be fair, mostly with Reserved on them. I prefer a pub!

Pathfinder Guides - Dark Peak Walks (2009): Stanage Edge. A favourite location as it is relatively easy to reach from where I live (especially when it has snowed) and the abandoned millstones below the edge always fascinate me. On this visit it was bitterly cold and grey but the cloud broke on my way back which made for some excellent photos of the millstones in that magic hour around sunset.

We started off from the Burbage Rocks car park with the aim of reaching the trig at High Neb and didnt know this trig existed until we arrived at it. However it was more than good compensation for the fact that we didnt make High Neb as Mrs Stroller was tired. Still, a glorious sunny morning for our first walk in this area. I'm sure well be back many times in the next few years as daughter has just started at Sheffield University.

On a night walk from Hathersage to Sheffield to take in the Perseids meteor shower. Some climbers were up here camping out in their tent in part for the same reason. Mist beginning to close in but the night view twinkled with lights below us.

A classic Peak District trig, sat on top of the gritstone. This was the first trig I bagged with my 7 month border collie pup. Sheep and nesting birds around so he was on the lead all day. Lots of snow underfoot. Worried I would not get out of the car park with all the ice and snow but made it back to Sheffield OK.

Trig set on top of a huge boulder on the edge of the rock face. Had just finished my rock climbing practical exam and so had to grab the trig! Spider and plug intact. Wonderful views in all directions over the hills. Not many climbers around.

Parked at Upper Burbage Bridge and bagged the trig point on a circular walk; taking in Higger Tor, Carl Wark and three geocaches in the area - a great evening’s walk :-)

Located on top of a cool rock that balances on top of others. Me and Matt got wet but had good walk - paths in a mess up here. Thank you 4x4 and bike users for that.

A little climb up onto the rock allowed me to gain access to the pillar. Thick cloud obscured the view, and the pillar was encrusted with wind-blown ice. In the sun the views would be marvellous, but the solitude made this moment quite special.

Good views across Derbyshire, but it's a bit of a scramble to get to the pillar as it's on top of a large rock. Footpath from the road is well marked.
