Parked in car park near the Goodwood Racecourse and a 5/10 minute walk to the top. In the middle of a (What looks like) hill fort. Good views from top, stretching from Portsmouth to Worthing. Another great one to log!

Fabulous spot. Short climb and easy access. Great views to Isle of Wight and all round. This hill is called St.Roche's Hill and was at one time known as Rook's Hill, and was chosen by Capt. Mudge as a primary spot for his first great Triangulation in 1792/3. See the extract of the Plan of the Principal Triangles in the Trigonometrical Survey to see it's views.

Second trig of December challenge. Excellent 360 degrees of views. Beautiful early morning dawn on the day. Easy find, even in the dark before work, keep going uphill. Been here a few times since, Shanklin on Isle of Wight is visible on a clear day.

Despite the poor weather, could still see Chichester harbour and the Isle of Wight, imagine it's brilliant in fine weather, definitely head back when i get the chance. road access and free car park within easy walking distance.

I think I might be the heat, but I am feeling tired already and only done 17miles. Had to push bike up FP from road to trig. Quiet steep in places. Great views, all the was to the sea.

Trundle Hill is a brilliant site with its massive Iron Age Fort bank and ditch, together with the earlier remains of a Neolithic Causewayed Camp. Terrific all round views today, particularly clear on the Sussex & Hampshire coasts, and out to the English Channel. Lots of cheery cowslips noticed on the stroll up. Pillar fine, and good to see that the original cap survives at such a popular viewpoint; two sight-holes open.

Located at summit of St Roche's Hill, originally a neolithic causewayed enclosure and later an Iron Age hill fort. Super 360deg views to Isle of Wight etc, Chichester cathedral prominent and a panoramic view of Goodwood race course is provided. Pillar in good condition with prominently chamfered base; original cap; 2 sight holes open. Living locally when growing up I was interested to see if the wooden lattice tower on the hill had been replaced, which it had - interested as I climbed the tower as a young teenager back in the 60's!

I parked in the car park to the north and used the walked paths to reach the pillar. In good condition and still retains an indented lettered plug. A wonderful view point over Goodwood Race course.

New Lipchis Way trig #3 (day 2 Midhurst to Lavant). Another 14 mile day and rather tired by this point so a good opportunity for a rest. Sadly Artemis has galloped away, apparently back down to the race course. Trig in very good condition including metal cap. Great views all round including our completed route north as far as Woolbeding, and south to East Head (our ultimate destination in two days time).

Quick walk up from car park on a sunny and breezy morning, but well worth it. TP in vgc with original plug, on edge of hillfort with extensive hazy views of the Downs, S to Chichester, distant Portsmouth, and the sea, and E to Goodwood racecouse (this would be a great place to watch the races). A fine spot.

Passed this driving down to the beach at Selsey from the Guildford area, thanks to the 'shortest route' on the TomTom. Would have missed it if not for the downloaded POI from this site! Thanks! Amazing views all around. Be a great first trig for youngsters! 206m Me

In good condition, this sits on a concrete plinth in the middle of the hill fort on St Roche's Hill. Fantastic views in all directions, particularly of the spire at Chichester, and over to the Isle of Wight. Metal plug with heavily indented lettering.

Located on an old Iron-Age fort with stunning views of the South Downs and Goodwood Racecourse. On a clear day there should be good views to the south across Chichester towards the English Channel. However, today it was rather murkey in that direction.
