re-visit. Not cycled round here since original visit in 2010. ROC bunker, toposcope, bench and large rock outcrop. Well worth a visit and twenty minutes taking in the views.

(1996) Parking on Alton Lane. Short walk from there to the pillar. Nice little reserve, sporting a cold war bunker, a gritstone outcrop and a viewfinder. Good views to be had. And I'm led to believe that if it's a really, really clear day - and with the aid of a telescope - Lincoln Cathedral can be seen. Pillar in fine condition, though the centre cap is missing and replaced by asphalt. Pillar history: Built on the 3rd of March 1937, at a cost of £5 14s 1d. Last maintained by the OS in May of 1983.

Walked from Eddlestow Lot Car park on circular walk. Good viewpoint. Ashover Rock close by. What looks like a nearby underground reservoir is in fact a roof of a Cold War bunker.

Interesting walking country. Ascended direct from Ashover and circled back round by Littlemoor; Milldale and Overton Hall. Whitewashed trig has washed out graffiti, but not physically etched in like the Fabrick (the big rock) nearby. Great views.

Parked in the parking area to the NE and a short stroll up the hill to this trig. The land was fairly recently donated by the Bassett sisters, descendants of the inventors of licorice all sorts. Also attempted the earth cache, and climbed the rock. Nice visit.

A day out caching and so we visited two trigs on our route. A very interesting location, not just the trig but the roc bunker and a nice rock out cropping. . Nice walk up and good views from the top.

nice walk up from ashover under a tunnel i had to duck to get under!quite steep to get to the top but rewarded by fine views and a nice trig,had to wait till a man finished playing tennis with his dog around the trig,i felt the blood boiling as the ball hit the trig,what is the world coming to!!

Left the car at Ashover Parish Hall and took the PROW from SK350632 towards Farhill, passing through a couple of charming stone built underpasses. Once on the minor summit I turned SE to the pillar. An interesting location with heather, rocks, toposcope, cold war bunker and obviously a trig pillar !! Edge of one arm of the spider slightly exposed and cap replaced with tarmac but otherwise in good order. Heading for Spitewinter next - wonder if I passed Desperate Dan heading in the opposite direction ?

Cold war bunker nearby. So did someone sit down there, waiting for the Russian missiles? I see they had an air pipe, so that was a good way for the fall out to seep down to them. Pillar looked good, the rock looked good, the May weather was crap, so I added some blue sky on the picture to chear it up

A trigpoint with everything, great views, a rock outcrop, a toposcope and a cold war bunker. Walked over from Highoredish – was pleased to pass The Nettles Inn – and it was open – had a pint of Peak Ales Bright Nick – lovely. Returned via Ashover and Fallgate – a good days walking with frozen ground and no wind.

Good day walking with two mates, Tracker dog and Rubber Ball, N of Ogston Res and got 2 out of 3 trigs. Trig in great position with good views all round from its ridge position. 'Opticon' viewing there to show 'sights' and nearby by is welded up entrance to Cold War radiation observation post. Ought to be worth a 9, come to think of it...

Easily accessible and highly visible. Joint visit with Carole. We parked at the road junction to the north and used the footpath to gain access to the area and were then surprised to find numerous paths that took us directly to a rocky outcrop and the pillar. Everything in good order. As others have said the original plug is missing though. A really lovely viewing area.

The easiest of the trig pillars visited today. There’s a convenient ‘lay-by’ just south-east of the road junction and a footpath directly opposite that takes you up to the summit just a hundred yards or so away. There’s an old R.O.C. nuclear observation bunker right next to the pillar. The entrance hatch has been welded closed, unfortunately, so you can’t get down into this one… A pity, that. There’s also a ‘Veiwpoint’ giving direction and distance to local landmarks. The pillar is in good condition, apart from the missing centre plug, the hole being filled with tar-mac. The views would be excellent on a clear day (as you would expect for an R.O.C. bunker location) but it was a bit hazy this morning.

There are probably good views to be had on a nice day. Clearly visible is the matlock to chesterfield road, and I now know the rocky outcrop at this trig is easily visible from said road when you know where to look (when traveling towards matlock)

Good condition except plug replaced by tarmac (?). 3 of the 4 sighting holes at the bottom on the pillar are open, but could not see light through them.
